The Dubai Creek is a significant part of the city's history and heritage. From the mid-19th century to the late 1960s, Dubai was a fishing and maritime trading village, with the Creek as its focal point and main commercial hub. Over the decades, much has changed, and the center of the city has shifted westwards. The Dubai Creek Harbour Community now stands as a testament to this rich history, blending tradition with modern living.

1. The Neighbourhood
Conceptualised by noted master developer Emaar Properties, Dubai Creek Harbour combines all the glitz and glamour of contemporary urban life with sustainable design and a unique lifestyle offering. It is spread over an area of roughly 60 million sq ft and divided into 9 separate districts, of which the Island District was the first to be built and is currently the only part of the community that is habitable. The first apartments started handing over in 2019, and there are several projects that are on the brink of completion.

2. The Island District
The Island District, which sits just off the shoreline on the mainland, is the main residential component of Dubai Creek Harbour at present, with 13 high-rise projects and two hotels. The Dubai Creek Residences, comprising 6 towers (3 North and 3 South) were the first ones to be handed over, followed by Harbour Views (Towers 1 and 2). The projects still under construction are Harbour Gate, Creek Gate, Creek Horizon, Creek Edge, Creek Rise, The Address Harbour Point, The Grand, Creekside 18, 17 Icon Bay, The Cove, and Palace Residences. The hotels in the district are being operated by The Address and Vida, two homegrown hospitality brands with an impeccable reputation, and are both already open.
3. Creek Beach

Located just opposite the Island district is Creek Beach, a unique concept that brings beachfront living to the heart of the city. Creek Beach is composed of 6 high-rise projects - Bayshore, Breeze, Summer, Sunset, Surf, and Vida Creek Beach. Each project is made up of multiple towers surrounding pedestrianized courtyards, and all of them are clustered around a man-made beachfront.
4. The Lifestyle
Once the community is completed, it will be comparable to areas such as Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina, with everything that its residents could possibly ask for, from restaurants to shopping centres to clinics. At present, the lifestyle offering is focused primarily on the Island District.

5. Upcoming Attractions
There is quite a lot planned for the remaining districts of Dubai Creek Harbour. Aside from Creek Beach, the community will feature an immense technology-focused shopping mall known as Dubai Square, the largest Chinatown in the Middle East, and Dubai Creek Tower. The latter is expected to be the tallest structure in the world at a height of more than 1 km, though construction on the tower was halted for a time. It is tentatively scheduled for completion in 2022.

6. Connectivity
As it stands, Dubai Creek Harbour is meant to be a destination for urban professionals and growing families, and will be offering plenty of options for work and for play with its plethora of hotels, a yacht marina and the upcoming beach.

Repton School in Nad Al Sheba is the closest school at a roughly 15-minute drive, and of course the community enjoys access to Hartland International School and the upcoming schools in Dubai Hills. Za’abeel Hospital is the closest and most well-known hospital, and other healthcare facilities such as Al Garhoud Private Hospital and Rashid Hospital are also approximately 20 minutes away.
