It is time for Potterheads to rejoice, dig out their brooms, and practise their wand skills, as a new shop has opened in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates celebrating all things Harry Potter.
For the past twenty-five years, the Harry Potter series has captivated and inspired young readers globally. We have seen firsthand the impact of J.K. Rowling's masterful storytelling, with themes of friendship and family that remain relevant today. Harry Potter has evolved into a widespread phenomenon, shaping and influencing online millennial culture, as well as the publishing and movie industries. If you're looking for a Harry Potter costume in Dubai, you'll find plenty of options to immerse yourself in the magic of this beloved series.
Set inside Mall of the Emirates, Dubai’s new Harry Potter shop was inaugurated last week, with 1,500 square feet of space dedicated to memorabilia, merchandise, and all things related to the popular wizard-themed franchise. Celebrating Harry Potter’s world, the venue will sell toys, clothes, notebooks, and souvenirs in a magic Potter-themed setting, where fans will feel right at home.

Inside The Store
The shop is decked in alluring design, inspired by the Wizarding World, with multiple official licensed products on display ready to transport visitors into the Ministry of Magic.
Fans can enjoy all of the exclusive items as well as marvel at the hand-crafted props, and exciting interactive elements the store offers, such as an ideal spot for photo opportunities with a Sorting Hat and baggage trolley similar to the one that Harry and his classmates had to run through to get to Platform 9 ¾ to board the Hogwarts Express.
In case you haven't gotten your Hogwarts admission letter when you were 11, you can use the interactive wand table to pick up a wand and test it, just like your favourite Harry Potter character. One of the most exciting aspects is the sweet treats inspired by the franchise, such as chocolate frogs and Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, that will soon be available for purchase. You'll feel as though you are on board the Hogwarts Express and ready to start your first year of wizarding school.

To further recreate the magic world of muggles and wizards, the shop will be selling Hogwarts cloaks, ties, uniforms, and wands that any Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Slytherin would be proud to wear.
Get ready to zip down to the store and fill your pockets with wands and other Potter-branded items you’ve been waiting for.
Inside Harry Potter’s Magic World
By the time Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was released in 1997, it was clear that there was something special about the fervour with which kids and adults devoured the novel and ultimately, the franchise. Suddenly, the world got a bit more magical, and everyone seemed to know the story of the Boy Who Lived, his fantastical adventures and his struggle against the evil Lord Voldemort.
At the time of the first release, many British newspapers were touting about the record-breaking sales that a novice author and single mother called Joanne Kathleen Rowling made with the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone book. It was credited with fostering a renewed love of reading in a younger generation whose attention had been turning away from books at the time.
Nobody could have predicted the pop culture phenomenon the story and its character would become, spawning a multi-billion dollar franchise comprising seven novels, eight movies and various tie-in media including a recently released video game.

Behind The Franchise
The first film adaptation, released in 2001, fetched more than $1 billion worldwide, propelling Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson (the actors who played Harry, Ron, and Hermione, respectively) to superstars and global fame. What followed was a Harry Potter frenzy that took over the world with the effect spilling over to Hollywood.
And it looks like the wizarding kingdom is not slowing down its movie magic anytime soon. On the contrary, a teaser trailer has been circulating since last year announcing the possible arrival of a new Harry Potter sequence called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The Broadway show with the same name was a huge success when it was released in 2018 and is currently still playing in London theatres.
