Dubai offers numerous places to visit in Dubai in summer, rich in both natural landscapes and manmade attractions. 1. Al Bastakiya District

The construction of Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood dates back to the 1890s. In its prime, the locality was capable of 60 housing units, most of which were separated by narrow, winding lanes. The town of Al Bastakiya was primarily built by the affluent Persian Merchants drawn to Dubai by the rich trade opportunities and incentives offered by the Emirati government, the district was named after the southern Iranian town of Bastak.

In the 1980s half of the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood village was destroyed to make way for the development of a new office complex. The remaining houses were mostly used as warehouses or accommodation for foreign laborers. In 1989, the Dubai Municipality directed that the remaining parts of Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood were to be demolished. Rayner Otter, a British architect, came to the area and made extensive renovation in the house where he was staying. Rayner started a campaign to preserve the area and wrote a letter to Prince Charles, who was scheduled to visit Dubai that year. On his arrival, Prince Charles asked to visit Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood and explored the whole area with Rayner Otter. During his visit the Prince suggested that Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood should be preserved and the demolition was canceled.

2. Bur Dubai Creek

Downtown Bur Dubai offers many attractions for free, making it one of the best places to visit in Dubai in summer for free. The soaring Dubai Frame showcases history exhibits, while Zabeel Park features the dramatic light shows of Dubai Garden Glow. The pyramid-shaped WAFI Mall houses elegant boutiques, contrasting with the discount stores of Al Karama. Art galleries abound in the Al Fahidi Historical District. Zabeel Stadium hosts soccer games and rock concerts, and you'll find a mix of international restaurants, curry houses, and Arabic cafes throughout the area.

Sunset Beach – also known as Umm Suqeim beach – is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the city’s idyllic sea, sun and sand. The spot comes with views of the Burj Al Arab and of course in the evening, its namesake incredible sunset vistas. One of the quieter areas along the coast, it is also a beautiful place for a morning jog along the beachside running track, or taking a stroll with panoramas of the Arabian Gulf. 

This calm beach is a great place for a nap under the sun or to catch up on some reading – there's even a handy library station for donating or borrowing books. Alternatively, cool down by taking a dip in the blue water, all while enjoying one of the emirate's best stretches of sand.

5. Al Serkal Avenue

Alserkal Avenue is an industrial compound hosting warehouses in the industrial zone of Al Quoz, in Dubai. The area is an arts and culture district for Dubai with lineup of galleries, facilities and platforms, such as Alserkal Avenue that houses residencies for local and global artists. In March 2017, Alserkal Avenue inaugurated Concrete (Alserkal Avenue), its new space in the Avenue and the first project to be completed in the United Arab Emirates by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), founded by Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate Rem Koolhaas.
